Blog #3 Part B

Which evidence is more accurate? Do you think the state had enough evidence to convict him? Should the U.S. government be able to use the death penalty as punishment? Explain.

the evidence provided by the fire expert was most accurate. he examined the pattern of the flames burning on the floor. this showed him that the pattern was not purposely formed into a satanic symbol like the authorities & prosecutors reasoned. the flames actually were formed in according to the exits including the windows. the U.S. government should not be able to use the death penalty as punishment in my opinion, if i were solely on this case. when new evidence was found, the judge and governor did not approve the review of the case even though the man's life was on the line. so he died due to the first verdict without review.

two CIA agents in pedestrian clothing were killed in a shoot out when they pulled into a clearing the clearing was in an area that was infamous for violence and fear of U.S. officials do to past events.
the agents made a woman submit two false affidavits. there were other evidence used that has too many inconsistencies.

The American Justice System: WM3

Describe the crime, cases and convictions of the West Memphis 3. What evidence was used to convict them? Do you think justice was served? Explain and justify your answer. Explain what the new evidence is and what it means for the case. Finally, give your final thoughts over the case and what it says about the U.S. Justice System.

three second graders were killed. sexually mutilated. the evidence that was used to convict the three teenagers charged with the crime were a knife that was found in a creek behind one of their homes. it was found in less than two hours and notebooks and books about magic and witchcraft. interrogation audio was also used. i don't believe that justice was served because the evidence was very suspect. the new evidence in the case points to one of the convicted teenager's step-fathers and his friend. the evidence is DNA found on what was used to tie the murdered kids up. the case shows the U.S. Justice System isn't completely pure. sometimes people are convicted just to settle the case.
